Darryl Fitzwater, Jr, is the planter and pastor at Ascension. He and Becki have been married since 2000, and they have 2 children. They began senior pastoral ministry in 2003, while Darryl was an ordained Pentecostal minister. In 2012 they transitioned into the Anglican Communion. His spiritual passions are to see people walk in the fullness of Christ, leadership development, and church growth/missions. Becki has worked in the public schools with autistic children, as administrator of a private Christian school, and is now a counselor. She holds her B.A. in Elementary Education, and her Masters in Professional Counseling. His B.A. is in Pastoral ministry, and his Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary.
Tanie and Jacqueline Guy serve in Administration and in Missions at Ascension. As directors for “Forget-Me-Not-Ministries,” which provides missionary care for missionaries across the globe, their ministry and impact is vital.
Denise Koczera is an Intercessor, and serves as the point person for prayer ministry at Ascension. She is one of the Regional directors for “One Voice Regional Prayer Group” that is a monthly meeting of intercessors across the Jefferson County area.
Clarke MaGruder serves in the Healing Ministry at Ascension. He and Lucille have been working in healing and deliverance ministry for some time, and have a proven ministry record in healing prayer. We have 90 minute blocks of time for personal healing prayer.
The Family Ministry is organized by Alex Rivas, with Erick Reyes working with the teens and Laura Harper working with the children. There are weekly mid week meetings, Sunday school, and monthly youth activities for children of all ages. Please email Alex for more information.
Karen Reyes has been leading Renewed Life Ministries, which works to help widows, single-moms, and others in need. She also works with our Women’s Ministry in organizing monthly events and activities.
