Lauren Spears, our Minister of Music, is starting up a blog. You can read here: http://www.spearsofjoy.wordpress.com.
Here is her bio:
Hello! My name is Lauren Spears, I am a wife and mother of 4 beautiful children; three girls and one boy. My girls are nine, eight, and two, and my little boy is just one month old. As well as being a stay at home mama, my husband and I are helping to plant a church alongside a great team of people. God has put me to the task of being the worship pastor, while my husband is truly gifted at teaching and preaching.
If you are a musician, a pastor, or both, you know very well, just this occupation alone has enough to blog about for eternity. However, along with this, I want to blog about the having the hardest job on earth, aka being a parent, especially concerning the joys and hardships of being a special needs parent.
Parents of special needs kiddos don’t usually have a lot of places to go to swap stories and encourage one another. My oldest daughter, who is nine, has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. She is such a joy and full of so much love to give out! However, there are so many challenges that we deal with on a day to day basis, sometimes seeming impossible; handicapped parking spaces are just the tip of the iceberg.
There are days full of sad tears, and then there are days of laughing so hard the tears are streaming down our faces; this sometimes happens all in the same hour! 😉 So, heres to pastoring, parenting, and life in the special needs world!
