Daughters of the Ascension

Daughters of the Ascension serves as a local chapter of the Daughters of the Holy Cross at Church of the Ascension in Charles Town, West Virginia. The order brings Christian women together who want to follow Jesus Christ with their whole lives.

Each member commits to grow in four important parts of the Christian life:

Prayer
Study
Service
Evangelism

Daughters of the Ascension wear a cross as a daily reminder of Jesus’ sacrifice. The cross also reminds us that we need Christ every day. Our sisters support and encourage one another; we grow stronger in faith as we walk together with Christ. We ask the Holy Spirit to guide every woman who wonders if God calls her to this order.

Our Mission

Daughters of the Ascension pray every day for our church, our clergy, our sisters in the order, and people in need. We also share the message of Jesus with others. We reach people through kind actions and honest words. We study the Holy Bible so we can know God’s truth. Scripture equips us to live with courage, faith, and love.

Through prayer, study, service, and evangelism, the Daughters of the Ascension help women grow closer to Jesus and serve His church.

THE PRAYER OF THE ORDER

O gracious and Holy Father, that thy Son may be glorified, give thy Daughters wisdom to perceive thee, intelligence to understand thee, diligence to seek thee, patience to wait for thee, eyes to behold thee, a heart to meditate upon thee, and a life to proclaim thee; by the power of the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
